In 2015 AmaWaterways will introduce a brand-new-124-passenger vessel, which has few more features to make you trip more comfortable and unforgettable. AmaWaterways is expanding its Asian operation with AmaDara, which will join its fleetmate AmaLotus cruising on the Mekong through Vietnam and Cambodia.
Tour excursions are guided by expert English speaking guides, and guests are divided into 2 small groups, guaranteeing there are spacious in sights. Electronic listening devices are complimentary to all guests in order to ensure that guests are able to hear their guides, even in crowded areas. We will use the 45 seat air condition bus during daily tour to attractions.
In 2015 the vessel will be dedicated to a 15-night itinerary which also includes land-based stays in Hanoi, Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City to take in UNESCO-listed sights and an excursion on an atmospheric junk in Vietnam’s Halong Bay.

AMA Waterways accepts children over the age of 8yrs, however there are no specific programs for them and no child minding facilities. - AmaWaterways cruises are primarily designed for the adult traveler. Children 4-17 must be in a cabin with an adult.

A menu of services is available on board indoor or outdoor, and all costs associated with spa services will be charged to the guest’s account. Suite Stateroom guests will enjoy a one-hour, complimentary, spa service of their choice during their tour. Food & Dining
The AmaDara features a main restaurant as well as alternate dining option which serve Asian and Western specialties. Meals are prepared by local chefs and consist of Western cuisine as well as Vietnamese and Cambodian cuisine. Breakfast is served buffet style each morning. For lunch, selections include salads, soups, hot entrées and desserts. Dinner is a multi-course meal with a selection of entrées. Free –flowing wine and beer are included with every lunch and dinner on board. Complimentary house brand spirits and soft drinks are also included throughout your cruise.
Designed to match and occasionally distract from the stunning surroundings, Local master chef’s dishes incorporate the timeless flavors and ancient sustainable ingredients of the Mekong’s many cultures and fertile fields. All best local speciality dishes our master chefs prepare on the Amadara Cruise to bringing together the finest recipes of Khmer and Vietnamese river cultures.. This casually elegant restaurant will offer signature dishes accompanied by complimentary wine in a single, open, dinner seating. Breakfasts and lunches offer sumptuous buffets with extensive choices.

Traditional & Interactive Evening of Khmer Dance:
During an entertaining evening of song and dance, you’ll enjoy a traditional Khmer folk performance and listen to a range of charming music that’s local to the Mekong region. The folk dancers wear clothes of the people they are portraying, such as Chams, hill tribes, farmers, and peasants. This evening is all about you getting involved – you can even join in the dance if you wish.
Topic Lectures:
During 8 Day/7 Night on RV Amadara Cruise, local expert Guide or doctors will give the fascinating lectures that you’re able to attend as you choose. Learn about the golden age of Cambodia during the Angkor period, which will enrich your appreciation of the fabled temples of the ancient Cambodian empire. Study  local customs, beliefs and traditions are also unearthed, adding valuable commentary to the places you’ll visit.
Musical Performances On Board:
On selected evenings on welcome or farewell gala dinner, the Mekong Restaurant converts into an atmospheric theatre that hosts a diverse program of musical entertainment that offers an amazing glimpse into the cultures of the region as Dong Ca Tai Tu – Vietnamese Folk Songs or Apsara Dance. Throughout the entire cruise, a pianist will be quietly playing soothing local music as well as some old favourites.
Cooking Class & Fruit-carving Demonstration:
Decorative food is a very important part of Vietnamese food culture, as presentation is all-important. Onboard, enjoy a detailed fruit-carving demonstration by the ship’s executive chef, and delight in the secrets of making the region’s most famous delicacy – Vietnamese Spring Rolls.

AmaDara features a vast array of in-room amenities specifically designed for your comfort and convenience. All staterooms are outside accommodations and feature Twin Balconies.
The 124-passenger vessel features 48 standard 226-square-foot staterooms, which all have private twin balconies (a French balcony and a full-size step-out balcony). All cabins onboard are air-conditioned and feature a cosy sitting area, writing desk, mini-bar, safe, telephone, hairdryer, bathroom with shower, bathrobes and slippers and bottled water replenished daily.
AmaDara has 12 suites measuring 334 square feet, with a larger sitting area plus a bathroom equipped with a shower and separate tub. The two 452-square-foot Luxury Suites include a king-sized bed, sofa, bathroom with shower and tub and a larger private balcony.

AmaWaterways generally appeals to well-traveled, 50-plus passengers with a strong interest in culinary arts and active exploration. Geographically, passengers are strongly drawn from North America, but the cruise line attracts a solid representation from the U.K. and Australia, where its partner, APT Touring, also markets the line.
Our recommendation

Laptops & cell phones run on virtually the entire route but overseas communications are very expensive. In case of emergency, it’d be possible to use the cell phone of the ship.WIFI is available on board, in the main lounge.

AmaDara Cruise Money and Account:

The currency used on board is the USD ($). The Vietnamese Dong is also accepted.  The Purser will be happy to give you any exchange rate information you may need. You are advised to bring with you notes in small denomination. Credit cards are also taken on board (Visa & MasterCard). All on-board expenses will be charged to your shipboard account and settled at the end of the cruise (in USD or Credit card).
